A discussion was held today (July 5th) in the Sri Dalada Maligawa Auditorium with government officials and security chiefs regarding the holding of this year’s Kandy Esala Perahara festival. The Anunayaka thero of Asgiri Maha Viharaya, Most Ven. Anamaduwa Dhammadassi, the honorable Diyawadana Nilame of Sri Dalada Maligawa, and Basnayana Nilames participated in the discussion. The primary activities required to organize the 2023 Kandy Esala Perahara festival were discussed. මෙවර කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලය පැවැත්වීම පිළිබඳ රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරින්, ආරක්ෂක අංශ ප්‍රධානීන් සමඟ සාකච්ඡාවක් අද (ජූලි 5) දින පස්වරුවේ ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේ දී පැවැත්වීය. මේ සඳහා අස්ගිරි මහා විහාරීය අනුනායක අතිපූජ්‍ය ආණමඩුවේ ධම්මදස්සි නාහිමිපාණන් වහන්සේ, ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ ගරු දියවඩන නිලමේ තුමා හා බස්නායන නිලමේවරුන් සහභාගී වූහ. 2023 ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලය පැවැත්වීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මූලික කටයුතු පිළිබඳ මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා විය.

Divinely colorful & wondrous 1712th Kandy Esala Perahera Festival comes to an end after 11 days of paying homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic & blessing the entire globe with their great cultural offerings, after Singheraja the Ceremonial tusker stepped on the ancient moonstone at the auspicious hour and entered through the main “Wahalkada” “Perahera Sandeshaya” the communication of the successful conclusion of the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival 2022 was handed over to his excellency the president Hon. The Grand Randoli procession of the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival 2022 returned to the temple after parading the streets yesterday (11) on Nikini full moon Poya day, paying homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic & also the 04 guardian deity. Then at the auspicious time of 12.58a.m, the Relic Casket was carried in a procession to the Asgiriya Gedige temple and kept there observing an age-old ritual. The Dewala processions of the four shrines reached the Dewala premises yesterday and then took off to Gatambe and performed the ritual of water cutting ceremony in the bank of Mahaweli river. Thousands of crowds gathered near Sri Rakkanga temple in Gatambe at midnight to witness this event. 2022 කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලයේ අවසන් මහා රන්දෝලි පෙරහර ඊයේ(11) නිකිණි පුර පසළොස්වක පොහෝ දා රාත්‍රියේ දළදා සමිඳුන්ට, සිව්මහා දෙවිවරුන්ටත් සියළු ගරු බුහුමන්, පුද පූජා පවත්වමින් ‍මහත් හරසරින් යුතුව පවත්වනු ලැබුවා. අවසන් මහ රන්දෝලිය මහනුවර වීථි සංචාරය කිරීමෙන් පසු චාරිත්‍රානුකූලව ගෙවදුන් අතර, අනතුරුව රාත්‍රී 12.58ට යෙදුන සුබ නැකතින් පුරාණ චාරිත්‍රයක් ඉටුකරමින් පෙරහර කරඬු වහන්සේ පෙරහරින් වැඩම කරවා, අස්ගිරිය ගෙඩිගේ රජමහා විහාරයේ තැම්පත් කරනු ලැබුවා. අනතුරුව සිව්මහා දේවාල පෙරහර දේවාල වෙත ගොස් දියකැපීම සඳහා ගැටඹේ තොට වෙත ගමන් කළ අතර, පෞරාණික සිරිත් සම්මත චාරිත්‍රවලට අනුව ගැටඹේ – මහවැලි ග‍‍ඟ නිම්නයේ දී සිව්මහා දේවාල වලට අයත් දිය කැපීමේ පුණ්‍ය චාරිත්‍රය සිදු විය. මේ අවස්ථාව දැකබලා ගැනීමට දහස් සංඛ්‍යාත පිරිසක් ගැටඹේ ශ්‍රී රක්ඛංග විහාරස්ථානය හා ඒ අවට ප්‍රදේශවල මධ්‍යම රාත්‍රියේ සිට රැස්ව සිටියා.
