The donation of vibrant & colorful elephant & tusker costumes for Kandy Esala Perahera Festival 2023 took place today (Aug 11) morning at the Temple of The Sacred Tooth Relic.
Mrs. Wasana Perera donated the set of costumes for the 5th consecutive time for the tusker group to be used on the 01st Kumbal procession scheduled to start on the 21st of August 2023. Mrs. Mangala Bannekotuwa donated the costume for the 02nd Kumbal procession under the guidance of Ven. Yatiyantota Chandakitti thero. Dr. Ashoka Dangolla, Professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Peradeniya University, donated the set of costumes for the 3rd Kumbal procession for the first time.
Mrs. Saumya Herath donated the set of elephant costumes designed in local batik art for the fourth time to be used on the 4th Kumbal procession. Mrs. Chathurika Wijetunga and Mrs. Rupika Costa donated elephant costumes for the second time for the 5th and the last Kumbal procession.
For the 01st Randoli procession, Mrs. Disna Vanigasekara donated the tusker group costumes for the fifth time and Mrs. Vasantha Rukmani Perera donated the set of costumes for the 02nd Randoli procession for the tenth time under the guidance of Venerable Yatianthota Chandakitti Thero. For the 3rd Randoli procession, the costumes were donated under the sponsorship of Ceylon Artifacts and Handicraft (Pvt) Ltd, for the second time under the initiative of Mr. Jayasankha Muthuranwela.
Whilst Mr. R. D. Samarasinghe Appuhami donated the costumes for the 4th Randoli procession, Mr. Thusitha Wijesena, President and CEO of Kandy City Center (KCC), donated costumes for the Royal Tusker and the tusker group of the Grand Randoli procession, for the 29th consecutive time.
Elephant costumes for the Day procession were donated by Mrs. Sasanka Alwis Edirisuriya for the third time.
K. C. Thadani, Gimhan Rashintha, Sunil Rabel, Lahiru Asanga Srinayake, R.N. Rajapakse, S. Guruge and Vasana Perera were the designers who have contributed to the designing of these elegant elephant costumes donated for the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival of 2023.
2023 ඓතිහාසික කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලය විචිත්‍රවත් කරන හස්ථිරාජයින් ඇතුළු ගජ පිරිවර උදෙස‍ා අලංකාර හස්ථි වස්ත්‍ර පරිත්‍යාග කිරීම අද (අගෝ. 11) දින පෙරවරුවේ ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ දී සිදු විය.
අගෝස්තු 21 වන දා ඇරඹෙන කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහරේ පළමු කුඹල් පෙරහරේ මංගල හස්ථිරාජයින් වෙනුවෙන් වාසනා පෙරේරා මහත්මිය පස්වෙනි වතාවට ඇත් ඇඳුම් පරිත්‍යාග කළ අතර දෙවන කුඹල් පෙරහර වෙනුවෙන් පූජ්‍ය යටියන්තොට චන්දකිත්ති ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේගේ මඟ පෙන්වීමෙන් මංගලා බන්නැකොටුව මහත්මිය විසින් ඇත් ඇඳුම් පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදී. තුන්වෙනි කුඹල් පෙරහර සඳහා ප්‍රථමවරට පේරාදෙණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ පශුවෛද්‍ය පීඨයේ මහාචාර්ය අශෝක දංගොල්ල මැතිතුමා විසින් ඇඳුම් කට්ටලය පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදී.
සිව්වන කුඹල් පෙරහර සඳහා තුන්වෙනි වරටත් දේශීය බතික් මෝස්තර කල‍ාවෙන් හැඩ කළ ඇත් ඇඳුම් කට්ටලය පරිත්‍යාග කරනු ලැබුවේ සෞම්‍යා හේරත් මහත්මිය විසින්ය. අවසන් කුඹල් පෙරහරේ මංගල හස්ථිරාජයින් සඳහා දෙවෙනි වරටත් ඇත් ඇඳුම් පරිත්‍යාග කරනු ලැබුවේ චතුරිකා විජේතුංග මහත්මිය හා රූපිකා කොස්තා මහත්මිය විසිනි.
පළමු රන්දෝලි පෙරහරේ මංගල හස්ථිරාජයින් සඳහා දිස්නා වනිගසේකර මහත්මිය විසින් පස්වෙනි වරටත්, දෙවන රන්දෝලි පෙරහර සඳහා දසවෙනි වරටත් පූජ්‍ය යටියන්තොට චන්දකිත්ති ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේගේ මඟ පෙන්වීමෙන් වසන්තා රුක්මනී පෙරේරා මත්මියත්, තුන්වන රන්දෝලි පෙරහර වෙනුවෙන් දෙවෙනි වරටත් ජයසංඛ මුතුරන්වෙල මහතාගේ මූලිකත්වය ඇතිව සිලෝන් ආර්ටෙෆැක්ට්ස් සහ හැන්ඩික‍්‍රාෆ්ට් පුද්ගලික ආයතනයේ අනුග‍්‍රාහකත්වයෙන් ඇඳුම් කට්ටලය පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදී.
සිව්වන රන්දෝලි පෙරහර වෙනුවෙන් ආර්.ඞී. සමරසිංහ මහතා විසින් ඇත් ඇඳුම් පරිත්‍යාග කළ අතර, අවසන් මහ රන්දෝලි පෙරහර වෙනුවෙන් 29 වෙනි වතාවටත් කැන්ඩි සිටි සෙන්ටර් හි (KCC) සභාපති, ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී තුසිත විජේසේන මැතිතුමා විසින් මංගල හස්ථිරාජයින් සඳහා ඇත් ඇඳුම් පූජා කරන ලදී.
දහවල් පෙරහරේ මංගල හස්ථියා වෙනුවෙන් තුන්වෙනි වරටත් සසන්කා අල්විස් මහත්මිය විසින් ඇත් ඇඳුම් කට්ටලය පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදී.
මීට අමතරව කළණ විදුරංග, සලුසල ආයතන ප්‍රධානී ඩෙන්සිල් පෙරේරා, තියන්ග්‍රා ගාමන්ට්ස් කළමණාකරන අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා මල්ලිකා පීරිස්, නිලංගා දුණුවිල, ලෝචනා රොද්‍රිගෝ, චරිත් ඇල්විටිගල, ශෙහානි නානායක්කාර, ජී.ඒ. සමීර ලක්ෂාන්, පවිත්‍රා නයෝමි, SL EleFriends Foundation, සචිනි විලියම්, ගිම්හාන් රශින්ත, චතුරිකා විජේතුංග, නිමාත්‍රි දන්දෙනිය, අරුණි උත්පලා දිසානායක, කේ.එම්. උපාලි ලලිත් රූපසිංහ, මැදගොඩ පත්තිනි දේවලයේ භාරකාර අජිත් බණ්ඩාර, ඊ.එස්.සී. සනධ්‍යා කුමාරි, බානු ගමගේ, පී.එම්. හර්ෂා රෝෂිකා ආරියරත්න, ටී. ගීෂාන් නිලංග ද සිල්වා යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් විසින් පෙරමුණේ ඇතා, දෙවන ඇතා සහ අනෙකුත් අලි ඇතුන්ගේ ඇඳුම් සඳහා අනුග්‍රාහකත්වය ලබාදෙන ලදි.
2023 ඓතිහාසික කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලය විචිත්‍රවත් කරන හස්ථිරාජයින් සඳහා පරිත්‍යාග කළ අලංකාරවත් අලි ඇඳුම් කේ. සී. තදානි, ගිම්හාන් රශින්ත, සුනිල් රබෙල්, ලහිරු අසංග ශ‍්‍රීනායක, ආර්.එන්. රාජපක්ෂ, එස්. ගුරුගේ, වාසනා පෙරේරා, සසන්කා අල්විස්, කළණ විදුරංග, නිලේෂ් දන්දෙනිය, කැළුම් සංජීව, අරුණි උත්පලා දිසානායක, පී.එම්. හර්ෂා රෝෂිකා ආරියරත්න යන මහත්ම මහත්මීන් සහ අපේ බතික්, රූ බතික් යන ආයතන වල නිර්මාණ දායකත්වයෙන් සිදුකර තිබේ.
